About Rachel
Rachel McDonough combines her insight from years living among some of the world’s poorest people in Kenya, with her professional experience as a Certified Financial Planner™ to offer a unique and refreshing perspective on money. She believes that the best way she can help her clients be truly successful is by helping them make financial decisions that reflect their personal values.
Rachel is the founder and owner of Make Your Money Count, LLC, an independent firm. Rachel offers hourly financial planning and asset management through Raymond James Financial Services, Inc. In 2008 she was named one of the Top Women in Finance1 by Finance and Commerce Newspaper, and Corporate Champion of Women2 by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Rachel is a published author on personal finance and is currently working on a book. She is also a keynote speaker on the topic of money and values.
Rachel holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and earned her financial planning certification through the College for Financial Planning in Denver, CO. She is a member of the St. Paul Financial & Estate Planning Council and sits on the boards of two nonprofit organizations. Rachel serves as a member of the Professional Advisor’s Committee at a local Community Foundation and is a member of the Women of Influence giving circle.
