Rachel McDonough Honored By

MN Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners 

The Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) recently honored Rachel McDonough, founder of Make Your Money Count, LLC and Certified Financial Planner™, with the Benefactor Award. This award recognizes a woman business owner who is passionate about giving back and demonstrates her commitment through philanthropic giving to a cause or organization dedicated to supporting the needs and/or interests of women.  

“While I enjoyed many aspects of my career as a financial advisor at a large corporation,” Rachel explained, “I founded Make Your Money Count, LLC to create a more client-friendly business model with a focus on helping people align their financial resources with their personal values and priorities.”

This independence from the business models of large investment firms, provides Rachel the opportunity to work with clients in a wider variety of ways to help them get the financial planning or investment advice they need in the manner that best fits their preferences.

“The success stories I hear from my women clients motivate and inspire me.  So many benefits come to them by being proactive with their finances: they become more focused, more effective, more authentic, and more empowered,” Rachel noted.  “As I see them progressing toward financial freedom, I’m encouraged to reach out and help more and more women get on the financial pathway that will help them achieve their aspirations.”

 
NAWBO’s Annual Awards Gala (held this year on April 16th) celebrates and brings together a diverse and talented group of business women.  The awards celebrate the contributions women business owners have made to the Minnesota business community and culture, as well as to the larger national and global economies.  The women receiving awards are pioneers who have forged their own paths to success, carved out new rules in business with intelligence, compassion and courage.
